We are having problems with the network cabling onsite that they installed for us. We are doing the terminations and I was lucky enough to convince fisher to buy us a 7,000 tester that certifies the cabling. Well, it was failing the test all day today. The cable they installed is not a brand name, and has no specifications. I have been reading manuals and trying to figure out what to do. We are using a technology called EtherCat that relies on a fast network connection and this tool was supposed to give us the warm and fuzzies on the cable and if it passed, we should be ok. Well I couldnt get it to pass on any test setting. I will continue troubleshooting tomorrow and if it comes down to it, we will re-pull the network wiring. I just hope we can get some brand name stuff here in China.
No pics today, we are getting pretty busy, but not much change onsite. I was working on terminating all these network connections, and then we went on to testing. The cell modem we got works good in the control room. So I will try to setup wireless sharing of the internet.
Thats it for now.
